Pay Per Click (PPC)

What is Pay Per Click?

Pay per click, also known as PPC, is a type of internet advertising in which advertisers only pay when a user clicks on their ad. When users type a keyword that matches the advertiser's keyword list, an ad will appear in the "sponsored link" or "sponsored ad" sections of the results page.

Advertisers prefer PPC to other forms of internet advertising because it shows immediate demonstrable results that can be easily controlled, preventing unnecessary losses and preserving precious marketing dollars. Another closely related type of advertising is pay per action or PPA. The main difference is that, instead of paying for ad clicks only, advertisers pay upon a designated action by the user such as signing up for a newsletter or buying a product. What Does it Cost?

There is a small minimum setup fee involved with most pay per click search programs.
