10 Reasons NOT To Have A Pool Table In A Design & SEO Studio

We are currently expanding our offices and needing to hire more SEO specialists, SEO copy writers, Social Media Specialists, PPC specialists, Bloggers, Business Consultants, Graphic Artists, Web Designers and basically all of the smart guys that do stuff that I can’t do but that our clients around the country desperately need.

It was suggested that in the new section of the office it might be a good idea to have a POOL TABLE available for the team to unwind, take a break and to as they say “CHILL’ from the stresses of the day. I have been considering their request and have come up 10 possible reasons as to why I should think carefully before saying yes.

10 Reasons not to get a pool table in the office:

  1. Talented Nerds convincing themselves they should turn pool playing pro and spend their nights at the local pub.
  2. New hires losing all of their first paycheck in friendly wagers with the office A-listers
  3. Guys walking around with blue marks on their forehead or wherever from screwing around with the pool cues
  4. I envision employees lining up to play next, arguing over next turn or me having to hire someone as a scheduler
  5. 5. More thought to angles of a shot than ranking of a client site and balls flying through our windowed office
  6. Anytime a long stick is put in the hands of the less mature, there is usually trouble
  7. Workmans comp claim increases from cues lodged where they shouldn’t be
  8. Non-smokers bringing in big cigars just for the realism effect or what they saw on a cable show
  9. Napping on the pool table or anything else that would not be considered pool related
  10. Balls found all over the office, under desks, or as a prank placed in trip or slip zones

There are obviously many reasons why I should put more work stations in this area of the office instead of a pool table and everything that goes along with it. But none of them are sufficient enough for me not to continue taking good care of my team and to in this small way say thanks to each of them for being absolutely devoted, dedicated and so talented at their specific job responsibility.

Thanks guys. You will probably get the table but an open bar is still out of the question. Sorry!!

  1. LOL these are all true. I work at a place that has a pool table and pingpong table in the same room and both those combined are very bad.
