The Importance of Using Professional Content Writers / Copywriters
Whether you are creating content for your own personal site or developing content for a complex corporate site, the way your message is written will determine Internet success or failure. If you are in the business of selling a specific product, are the manager of your company's shareholder relations, or perhaps introducing the latest whiz bang in technology, it all starts with the site user being able to clearly understand your intentions and message.
Search Engines weigh heavily the use of "Unique Content". Unfortunately, there are many who believe that stealing content, images or technology from another's site is acceptable behavior. Search Engines are now penalizing any site that appears to have duplicate content making it almost impossible for a site to rank well if the content is not original and compelling.
Bottom line: If you "cut and paste" content, search engines will blackball your site.
How Web Users Read
Extensive research has been done on the Internet to decide on the best way to present your marketing message. It appears that 16% or less of internet users read a document word for word. Shocked? Internet readers are more likely to scan over the text: looking for key points, key words, and important information placed in bulleted lists. Clear and easy-to-read language presented in an informal style is ultimately the most readable choice, even for technical content. After all, what good is the text if no one will read it?
Fundamental Questions
Any successful content management project begins by answering a few fundamental questions:
- What is the strategic purpose of your web site and what are the expected results?
- Who is your target audience?
- What do you want them to know about your offerings or your business?
- How will you measure your success in terms of visitors, orders, increased calls, etc?
- Are you committed to maintaining your site and keeping it current?
- Have we incorporated all the necessary functionality to have a successful online experience? Or have we taken shortcuts to save a few dollars?
